DESCRIPTION:Introduction\nIn Kirwan – v – Connors & Ors [2025] IESC 21\, the Supreme Court delivered a landmark decision on delay in legal proceedings. The Supreme Court introduced a more structured framework for addressing delay. This has reformulated the Primor principles. The personal injuries guidelines are in place since 2021 and were overdue for review under the terms of the Judicial Council Act 2019 following a recommendation 16.7% by the judicial council. DESCRIPTION:Introduction\nThis one-hour webinar will look at the challenges facing solicitors when dealing with a lay litigant. This webinar seeks to look at the many types of clients solicitors represent and how to deal with them. The webinar will also look at complaints\, why solicitors get them\, whether they are fair and how to deal with them. \nThe Solicitors Guide to Professional Conduct (4th ed.) has a chapter dedicated to the solicitor and client relationship. The Legal Services Regulatory Authority also has guidelines and reports in relation to client complaints which are regulated under the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015. DESCRIPTION:Introduction\nTwo new pieces of legislation will have a considerable impact on conveyancing practice. The Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act\, 2021 is the latest attempt to reform the law of prescriptive easements which has dogged conveyancing practice since 2009.
