TWO HOURS OF GENERAL CPD AWARDED FOR THIS WEBINAR

Introduction

Tax now sits at the centre of almost every property transaction. VAT, Stamp Duty, Capital Gains Tax and the Residential Zoned Land Tax each carry traps that can surface late and prove costly. Recent changes have raised the stakes, from the new 9% VAT rate for qualifying apartments to the Section 83D refund scheme and the new RZLT. This webinar gives solicitors a clear, practical guide to the tax issues arising on the sale and purchase of property, the reliefs available and the pitfalls to watch for.

Learning Outcomes

✔︎ VAT issues associated with property transactions including key rules, recent developments and common pitfalls, including the application of the new 9% VAT rate for qualifying apartments.

✔︎ Stamp Duty issues arising on property transfers and applicable reliefs including applications of higher rates of stamp duty and refunds on residential development under Section 83D.

✔︎ Capital Gains tax including tax clearance and withholding tax issues.

✔︎ Residential Zoned Land Tax – issues arising on sales.
